Under farmers visit program, a group of 51 farmers from Shivpuri district of Madhya Pradesh visited ICAR-CISH Lucknow on 8th December, 2023. Farmers were sensitized about subtropical fruit production, protection, processing and improved varieties for enhancing income. Importance of fruits and vegetables in ensuring food and nutritional security was discussed. Farmers were sensitized about the scientific management of disease and insects in mango and guava. The role of protected cultivation for producing quality vegetables was explained. In order to meet the nutritional requirements and also to improve farmers’ income across country, farmers were made aware of newly released fruits and vegetable varieties. Farmers were encouraged to grow underutilized fruits like bael and aonla with drip irrigation cum mulching. Scientific cultivation of Karonda, Mango varieties like Dashehari, Mallika, Amrapali were presented. Importance of micronutrient management vis-à-vis water conservation for quality fruit production was also explained. Role of nutrient management for enhancing nutrient rich Guava production was presented. During field visits, farmers were explained of espalier system of guava, fruit bagging, container gardening of fruit crops and high density of mango. Dr. Naresh Babu, Principal Scientist interacted with the farmers. Dr. Naresh Babu, Principal Scientist and Mr. Arvind Kumar, ACTO organized the visit. मध्य प्रदेश के शिवपुरी जिले के 51 किसानों के एक समूह ने 8 दिसंबर, 2023 को आईसीएआर-सीआईएसएच लखनऊ का दौरा किया। किसानों को आय बढ़ाने के लिए उपोष्ण फल उत्पादन, संरक्षण, प्रसंस्करण और उन्नत किस्मों के बारे में जागरूक किया गया। खाद्य और पोषण सुरक्षा सुनिश्चित करने में फलों और सब्जियों के महत्व पर चर्चा की गई। आम और अमरूद में रोग और कीटों के वैज्ञानिक प्रबंधन के बारे में जागरूक किया गया। गुणवत्तापूर्ण सब्जियों के उत्पादन के लिए संरक्षित खेती की भूमिका के बारे में बताया गया। पोषण संबंधी आवश्यकताओं को पूरा करने और देश भर में किसानों की आय में सुधार करने के लिए, किसानों को नई जारी फलों और सब्जियों की किस्मों के बारे में जागरूक किया गया। किसानों को ड्रिप सिंचाई सह मल्चिंग के साथ बेल और आंवला जैसे कम उपयोग वाले फलों को उगाने के लिए प्रोत्साहित किया गया। करोंदा, दशहरी, मल्लिका, आम्रपाली जैसी आम की किस्मों की वैज्ञानिक खेती प्रस्तुत की गई। गुणवत्तापूर्ण फल उत्पादन के लिए जल संरक्षण के साथ-साथ सूक्ष्म पोषक तत्व प्रबंधन के महत्व को भी समझाया गया। संवर्धन हेतु पोषक तत्व प्रबंधन की भूमिका पोषक तत्वों से भरपूर अमरूद उत्पादन प्रस्तुत किया गया। क्षेत्र भ्रमण के दौरान, किसानों को अमरूद की एस्पालियर प्रणाली, फल बैगिंग, फलों की फसलों की कंटेनर बागवानी और आम कीसघन बागवानी के बारे में समझाया गया। । डॉ. नरेश बाबू, प्रधान वैज्ञानिक और श्री अरविंद कुमार, एसीटीओ ने यात्रा का समन्वय किया।
